About the Proposal

Engaged:

August 13, 2017

On August 13, 2017 Glen and I landed in Paris, France for a vacation. When we arrived, I wondered why he was so antsy to get moving and see the city. He kept rushing me to get ready, and when I said that I was thinking of wearing jeans he said “Why don’t you wear a dress?” I rolled my eyes but went along with it, and we walked along the Seine river to the Louvre. As we entered the Jardin des Tuileries, Glen started guiding me around the park. He walked me over to one area, then turned me around and took me in another direction. I was just starting to wonder why he was acting so weird when he put his hands on my shoulders and said “Let’s just stand here for a minute.” I laughed but went along with it, and that’s when he launched into his proposal speech. Just as he got on one knee, I saw my sister walk up with a camera. I’m not sure which part was more shocking! It turns out she had taken the train up from where she lives in Lyon and had been in the park for two hours waiting for us. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect moment, and we got to spend the rest of our vacation celebrating.

About the Dress

Kleinfeld Consultant:

Debbie

I always dreamed of going to Kleinfeld, and I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for: an a-line dress that wasn’t too heavy with some definite beading or sparkle. When I got to my appointment, Debbie immediately knew what I was looking for. I tried on five or six dresses, and the last one was it. I started to realize it when the family of another bride commented on how perfect it was. Debbie asked if I wanted to meet the designer, since it was a Michelle Roth trunk show. She came in, picked out a veil, and I got chills. However, I had one more dress appointment that day. Debbie completely understood, gave me her card, and told me to come back the next morning if I wanted the dress.

First thing the next day, my mom, sister, and I were back. When Debbie came out to meet me the first thing she said was “I was just telling Michelle that I had a feeling you’d be back.” They put the dress back on and knew it was the one. Michelle came and helped do my measurements, talking about how she would alter the pattern for me.  I have never felt like more of a princess (other than on the wedding day itself!).

About the Wedding

Married:

October 13, 2019  //

Location:

NY  //

Venue:

Manhattan Penthouse

We got married on October 13, 2019 at Manhattan Penthouse in New York City. It was a beautiful fall day. Since Glen and I met during our freshman year at NYU, we did a first look in Washington Square Park. We took photos with our wedding party and parents going up Fifth Avenue, and even made a stop at our freshman residence hall before arriving at the venue. The whole day was a blast and I felt absolutely beautiful in my dress. I’m thankful for our family and friends, and all of the amazing people who helped bring our dream day to life.       Photos: Shawn Inglima
