Kleinfeld Love Stories

Briana & Kameron - 3/11/23

About the Proposal

Engaged:

July 15, 2020

Kameron was never one to be able to pull off surprises, but this day took me totally off guard. During the height of Covid-19 in 2020, to get out of our apartment and get some exercise in our day, we would go for walks at the waterfront near us. July 15, we were on one of our usual walks, wearing our typical Covid sweats. We were halfway through our walk along the water when he got down on his knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I laughed because it was so unexpected, and then I realized it was really happening! I SAID YES.

About the Dress

Kleinfeld Consultant:

Cierra Potter

One of the first things I did when we got engaged was book an appointment at Kleinfelds. It’s been my dream to get a dress at Kleinfelds since I was a little girl watching Say Yes to the Dress with my mom. Prior to my Kleinfelds appointment, I went to a couple local places to get an idea of the type of dress I thought I was looking for. I was trying on a lot of full lace, ball gown style dresses, but I was struggling in feeling like I was just playing dress up and nothing felt like me.

At Kleinfelds, my consultant Cierra took the time to learn about me and the wedding. She started pulling some more fitted, classic and elegant gowns that had a hint of tropical oasis that fit my venue style. Cierra pulled the Pronovias Novak Unlined gown, nothing like what I thought would look good on me, but then I put it on. I felt like I was a bride about to get married to the love of her life. She then added custom detachable off the shoulder sleeves and veil. I instantly knew this was it and I started crying tears of joy. When Cierra asked me if I was saying yes to the dress in the salon, I got to live out my childhood dream. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

About the Wedding

Married:

March 11, 2023  //

Location:

Casa de Campo, La Romana, Dominican Republic  //

Venue:

Dye Fore Terrace, Altos De Chavon

Living in Buffalo, NY it can get a little snowy. My parents got married in February so that they can celebrate their anniversary somewhere warm every year. We picked March and decided to have a tropical destination wedding. Being an interior designer, I didn’t want to get married on the beach, we wanted a venue that felt unique with history and character. When our travel agent showed us Casa de Campo and the village -Altos de Chavon- on their property, we instantly fell in love with the location. The Caribbean ocean, the gorgeous Mediterranean cobble stone village with all of the beautiful details put into the property, and the lush, vibrant greenery, felt like the perfect place for us to start forever together.

The day of the wedding we had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Dye Fore Terrace overlooking the Chavon river and their world renowned golf course. Casa de Campo and our wedding planner, Deborath, kept everything running unbelievably smooth. We had a choreographed first dance to Love Songs Ain’t for Us by Amy Shark with cold fireworks – it was a fairytale! I got so many compliments on my dress and it was so comfortable and breathable, perfect for our day. After all of the eating, dancing, and having fun with family and friends, we surprised them with traditional Caribbean dancers for a “Hora Loca”! No one could get off the dance floor with salsa, kanga, and limbo! Our family got to experience something one of a kind. Kameron and I had the best day of our life together.
