About the Proposal

Engaged:

October 24, 2015

It was my Grandmas 80th birthday and my whole family went on a lunch cruise around Manhattan. It was a chilly October day, but the weather held out and we had a nice clear day. Mike wore a winter jacket indoors and outdoors with his hand in the pocket the whole time. Naturally, it went right over my head until he got down on one knee. It was nearing the end of the trip and as we headed back into port the family was on the top deck taking pictures when Mike called me over and asked to take one more perfect skyline shot with me. With that, I thought nothing of it and took it. As I went to walk away he grabbed my hand and as I turned he got down on one knee. I was speechless as I covered my face with an insane amount of happiness and shock. He went on to say what I’m sure was super romantic, but I was on cloud nine trying to take in everything that was happening. As I calmed myself I heard him say how spending the rest of his life with me is the only thing that would truly make him happy. He asked and I, of course, said YES.

About the Dress

Kleinfeld Consultant:

Lisa

I am a curvy person with a large chest. I was so nervous about wedding dress shopping. Thankfully I couldn’t have gotten a nicer person than Lisa to help find me the most perfect dress. Dress after dress I couldn’t see it. Then with a zip and a clip I turned and saw myself in the perfect Danielle Caprese dress. It was exactly as I had envisioned it. The only thing missing from my dream dress was some off the shoulder sleeves. Without hesitation the most sweet seamstress named Stella took my dress and created the perfect sleeves. On my wedding day I felt absolutely amazing, a feeling I don’t often feel. Thank you Danielle Caprese, Lisa, Stella and Kleinfeld for making my dreams a reality.

About the Wedding

Married:

May 27, 2017  //

Location:

Oyster Bay   //

Venue:

Westbury Manor

I know everyone says this but my day was truly what dreams are made of. I didn’t care if anything went wrong because the only thing that mattered was seeing Mike at the end of the aisle and sharing our love with everyone that day. We had such an amazing wedding and were so lucky to be surrounded by such incredible friends and family! It was memorial day weekend so we got to spend so much time with friends and family from out of state. The weather held up and we were able to get so many great photos.  I loved how every moment of the day went. All that I cared about other than Mike was that everyone had fun and that they did. How could they not when there was an open bar and an endless amount of food. From start to finish I had a smile on my face and Mike did as well other than when he cried when I walked down the aisle. It was the perfect moment that is now the photo that pops up when he calls me. Our day of coordinator said I was the only bride he has had in all his years that just truly enjoyed the day. He said that I was the only bride that completely trusted everyone and just let everyone do their jobs. Why wouldn’t I? We got married at the church where my parents got married 30 years ago and where my grandparents renewed their vows for their 50th anniversary. We then went on to Westbury Manor which was this perfect mansion where we were the only wedding so it was private and quiet. The staff and everyone that helped create our day were all truly amazing. I would marry Mike all over again, as long as I didn’t have to do any of the planning 😉 It was absolutely the best day ever! Now we are enjoying our forever!
