About the Proposal

Engaged:

May 2, 2015

My husband and I were together for 4 years before we got engaged. We met through his brother, who I happened to be friends with since college. Since the first date, my husband has been nothing short of amazing. Never once did I ever have a doubt in my mind that he was the one for me. It was a beautiful day in May, we planned a day date to go down to Dumbo in Brooklyn to grab a bite to eat and walk around. So we did that, as we get arrive he asked if I would like to take a walk down by the water. We were standing by the water and now that I think back, I could tell something was up but never did I think it was about to be THE MOMENT! He grabbed my hand and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of a crowd of strangers (who happened to be cheering for me to say yes before I could) and asked me to marry him. I couldn’t speak for about a good solid minute. It was by far on the of the best moments of my life. He had a photographer hiding out so he was able to grab some great pictures of us. We headed back to Staten Island, where we both are from and my family and friends were waiting for us there to celebrate. It was a day I will never forget.

About the Dress

Designer:

Love by Pnina Tornai  //

Kleinfeld Consultant:

Judith

My dress! Kleinfeld was my first appointment to begin the search for “THE DRESS.” As a little girl, you dream of this moment your whole life and until you actually get to that moment you are never sure what to expect. It was a Sunday morning, I had my mother, my grandmother and my maid of honor, my sister with me. We walked in and I couldn’t catch my breathe, you just can’t believe you are in Kleinfeld’s and you also can’t believe you are the bride and this was your time. I was greeted by my consultant, Judith, she brought us into the dressing room, I showed her some pictures I had in mind and we were off. Before I knew it, I was in a sea of bridal dresses, at first you are not sure where to look cause you are in awe. But Judith pointed us in the right direction, we looked at some dresses, she grabbed some and before I knew it, it was time to put them on. It was the second dress that I tried on, she said this is a new dress from Pnina’s collection and I think it has your name all over it. Before I knew it, she went to zip me up and she said ” OMG it fits like a glove.” Not seeing myself yet and not sure how I would look, I slowly turned around and I was left speechless once again. I made my way out of the dressing room and I could see my mom’s face light up, my grandmother with tears and my sister not sure what to say. As I made my way to the pedestal, I could feel already this might be “the one.” While on the pedestal , my mother came over to me and said “this was made for you.” On this same day, there was a trunk show going on for Thomas Knoell designs. Thomas Knoell, came over to me with a headpiece in hand along with a bracelet and some earrings and said to me I am sorry but I was over there looking at you and this collection might just fit you perfectly. Before I knew it, I had a headpiece on, a veil and a bouquet in my hand. My heart was fluttering cause you are about to “Say Yes to the Dress.” I just wasn’t sure, I originally made another appointment to go see some more dresses that day, I told Judith and she told me “you are never going to find one like that.” She told me go try on and if you believe this is it, come back here and we will try it on once again and you say yes to the dress. Long story short we did just that, I made my way back to Kleinfeld and I said “Yes to the Dress”. I said yes to a Pnina Tornai Lace gown from her 2017 Love Collection. It was a day I will never forget and I owe it all to Kleinfeld.

About the Wedding

Married:

March 25, 2017  //

Location:

Somerset, New Jersey  //

Venue:

The Palace at Somerset Park

My wedding was something I have dreamt about my whole life. As you grow up, you picture the day in your head over and over again but just like the finding the dress you are never sure what you are about to expect. My husband and I got married on March 25th, 2017. We found the most perfect venue that just fit us as a couple, it was the Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, New Jersey. The day started out with all my bridesmaids, my mother and my mother in law, all getting our hair and makeup done together just what I wanted. I wanted to share that time with them before the day started. Before I knew it, it was time to walk down that aisle. Thank god for my dad because in the car on the way up to church, which happened to be up the block from my childhood home, I felt very nauseous so we made a couple of turns before I got out of the car. It was time to finally take that walk with my father, I didn’t concentrate on anyone else but my husband and by looking at him, all my nerves went away. The ceremony was beautiful. I had my childhood pastor , who is now a Bishop, come back and marry us. It was perfect. And just like that we were married and it was time to party. We walked into our venue and my husband and I were speechless. From the beautiful centerpieces, to the way the room was setup, it was our night. Everyone tells you how much to enjoy the night because it goes by so quickly, well if I was able to freeze time it probably still would be on March 25th. To be surrounded by your family, your friends, everyone that is there to celebrate your love, is a pretty remarkable feeling because you know everyone is there to celebrate the both of you. It was the best day of our lives, a day that we both will never forget.
