Kleinfeld Love Stories

Haley & Miles - 12/31/17

About the Proposal

Engaged:

November 7, 2014

Miles and I were going camping in San Simeon to celebrate our three year anniversary. Before we left to go on the trip Miles said he wanted to take me to Hearst Castle since it was about 20 minutes from where we would be camping and I have never been. Hearst Castle was beyond beautiful and I was in awe with its beauty. For Miles the experience was a little different. Normally this type of year it is a high of 60 degrees and cloudy, with this information in the back of Miles’ head he decided to wear a full fleece lined coat. Well, the day we went it decided to be sunny and a high a 75 degrees. Due to the fact that Miles had the ring box in his coat pocket he could not take off the jacket. I remember walking around in just a t shirt and kept asking him if he was going to keep sweating why not take off the massive coat? Finally after the three tours were over Miles took me up these, probably 70 flights of stairs, to this balcony that over looked the garden and ocean. Once we got up there Miles was a bit out of breath and kept asking me to stay on this balcony. When all I wanted to do was go back down and keep walking around this beautiful place. Finally once Miles was able to catch his breath he got down on one knee, pulled out the ring box, and said ” Haley, will you please make me the happiest man alive and spend the rest your life with me?” At this point I was completely freaking out and wasn’t sure what to say or do. So, my genius idea was to get down on the ground with him. Thinking if I am lower than him maybe this isn’t happening? I remember Miles grabbing me and pulling me back up and said his line one more time. Finally, I saw the beautiful ring and the man of my dreams asking me to marry him and I said, “Yes! Of course!”

About the Dress

I did not purchase my dress from Kleinfeld, but I did purchase my accessories there.

I wore Thomas Knoell Designs earrings, head piece, and bracelet. I remember seeing them in the case and thinking yes those are what we need! They went so well with my 20s themed wedding. I also wore Emmy London  Cecile Ivory closed- toe shoes with my wedding dress. Same as the Thomas Knoell jewlery these shoes were a show stopper! I got so many compliments on them!

When we were in the store our consultant showed us this amazing feather piece that was on the sale rack. Due to the fact that it was custom made for a customer that wanted more bling and feathers than the piece you made had. This piece I wore with my reception dress and it was a show stopper the whole night! It made my dress become that much more over the top.
