Where is Pnina Tornai from?
“I am from Israel. As the daughter of a diplomat, I’ve traveled and lived in several different countries before I eventually moved to Paris and spent a decade there,” she shared. “I am actually fluent in four languages and get by in several others,” she added.
What was Pnina Tornai’s career path leading up to her start at Kleinfeld?
“I’ve always had a passion and natural eye for fashion,” Pnina explained. “I opened a small store in Israel after returning from Paris and living there for a decade. I started with evening gowns at first, but after a vivid dream one night where I saw spectacular bridal gowns falling from the sky, I knew that I was meant to design wedding dresses,” she said. “Then, once I became the top bridal designer in Israel, I set my eye on the United States – and especially on Kleinfeld!”
What was Kleinfeld’s first impression of Pnina Tornai designs?
“When I first arrived at Kleinfeld, the Kleinfeld team thought that my designs were way too sexy and daring for the American bride,” Pnina admitted. “At the time, nobody in bridal offered anything like my signature sheer corsets and bold crystal beadwork. Kleinfeld told me, ‘Thanks, but no thanks!’” she joked. “But, I didn’t give up. I designed a new collection specifically for Kleinfeld brides, and I convinced Kleinfeld to put some of my wedding dresses on the showroom floor for the first time,” she shared. “Thankfully, the brides loved them and the rest is history.”

“My work is known for couture bridal and evening gowns made with luxurious, exclusive fabrics, laces, handmade embellishments, and of course, my figure-flattering fit. My mission is to fulfill every bride’s dream regardless of her size,” she added.

“My couture bridal gowns start around $7,500 and can go up to $80,000 or more for customized dresses due to the countless hours of hand embellishment. Gowns in my Love by Pnina Tornai collection retail for about $5,500 to $12,000 depending on the style,” she shared.
Can you customize a Pnina Tornai wedding dress?
“Yes! Pnina Tornai couture wedding dresses can be customized in any way a bride’s heart desires,” she stated. “This includes working one-on-one with me to create a completely custom design for the dress of your dreams.” She added, “Love by Pnina Tornai dresses can also be customized to a certain extent. For instance, adding lining, sizing adjustments, and other small customizations are possible.”
How long does it take to get a Pnina Tornai wedding dress made?
“I typically require a full year to fulfill an order. Every Pnina Tornai bridal gown is made to order and it usually takes at least 6 months to a year for a dress to be ready,” she said. “Certain dresses can be fulfilled as a ‘rush order’ for an additional fee.”
