The Best Foods to Serve at the End of Your Wedding

You might have your cocktail hour passed hors d’oeuvres and stations picked out and your dinner tasting all squared away with your caterer, but have you considered what you want to feed your guests late at night? End-of-the-wedding snacks have become more and more popular with wedding couples, and there are so many routes to go in terms of feeding your guests hours after dinner has been served. Not sure where to start? We got the scoop! “We love after-party food and goodies and do so many different things,” says Robin and Jeffrey of Marcia Selden Catering, “Most of them revolve around comfort foods that evoke joy and make people happy—especially if they have been enjoying the cocktails throughout the wedding!” Find out which are the best foods to serve at the end of your wedding, below.

Warm cookies

Your guests will totally swoon at Marcia Selden Catering’s giant, warm ‘kitchen sink cookies’. “They are basically chocolate chip cookies on steroids with crushed kettle potato chips, pretzels and semi-sweet chips,” says Robin and Jeffrey. “We bake them fresh at the end of the wedding so that yummy smell hits you when they are being passed,” Talk about YUM!

Milkshakes

Nothing is better than washing down your oversized cookie with an equally decadent milkshake. “Milkshakes are showstoppers every time,” says Robin and Jeffrey. Chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream—you can even spike them to get the after party started. “My favorite is the Bailey’s milkshake—yum!” says Robin.

Bakery wall

“Imagine a wall of fresh baked goods much like you see in a donut shop,” says Robin and Jeffrey. Not only will this wow your guests, but it’ll make for a great photo opportunity for you and your spouse. Plus, bakery walls can be totally customizable—”We have bakery attendants there to assist and create branded bakery boxes that guests can fill to enjoy at the party as well as to take home with them” says Robin. “We do all sorts of cookies, crazy donuts, custom hand pies, cupcakes, custom hand painted cookies—you name it, we’ve done it!”

Grilled cheese station

Talk about ooey gooey drool-worthy goodness—a custom grilled cheese melt shop. With plenty of flavor combinations and the option to make the station custom to your wedding (Marcia Selden Catering offers branding irons with couples’ logos that can be branded onto the sandwiches), the options are endless (and tasty)! Need inspo? “Our latest wedding included our smashed meatballs with mozzarella & marinara, BBQ chicken with caramelized onions & pepper jack cheese, French brie, apples & fig jam, and balsamic peaches with burrata,” Does it get any better than that?

Create your own sliders

“Always a fan favorite are our slider-sized sandwiches,” says Robin and Jeffrey. No matter your personal taste or the palate of your guests, there’s options for everyone! “Our most popular combos are bacon egg and cheese on brioche, our sirloin smashed cheddar burger with special sauce and house-made pickles, and our Nashville hot chicken,” says Jeffrey. Looking to serve a vegan option? “We also have a quinoa-crusted eggplant with grilled tomato—yum!”
