Kleinfeld Love Stories

Stefanie and Ryan - 9/7/19

About the Proposal

Engaged:

July 22, 2018

Ryan proposed at the beginning of our vacation in Eastern Canada. He had originally planned to propose near the end of the week at Peggy’s Cove, but he was so nervous and decided he couldn’t wait that long. We were among the few people at Argyle Shore Provincial Park, a beautiful red sand beach in PEI. He got down on one knee in the sand, I said yes, and we spent the rest of the day laying in the sand, walking along the beach, and hiking. Our dog, Tinker, was very excited when we got home and told her the news.

About the Dress

I said yes to the very first dress I tried on—Tara Keely, Style 2704. I had not been to any other bridal shops before Kleinfeld because I knew exactly what I wanted. I was inspired by the simple design of Meghan Markle’s wedding dress—it was clean and really drew the focus in on her. I felt my gown was similarly simple, and then the off-the-shoulder neckline with the added straps, the long train, and the ivory creamy luxurious fabric really represented my own style, so I felt it was the perfect dress for me. The Kleinfeld consultants cheered when I decided to get the dress and brought a glass of champagne for my sister (Matron of Honor) and I. The whole experience was exhilarating! The belt is also from Kleinfeld—I tried it on during one of my fittings and then could not imagine my dress without it.

About the Wedding

Married:

September 7, 2019  //

Location:

Hamilton, Ontario  //

Venue:

The Spice Factory

The style of our wedding was edgy-chic, as we wanted it to be unique from the other weddings we had been to. Our colors were deep and dramatic dark purple, navy blue, with very light blush pink accents. I walked down the aisle with my father to our harpist’s rendition of “Green Apples” by Chantal Kreviazuk. Our guests blew bubbles at us once we were pronounced man and wife – this was especially for our niece (and flower girl) who loves bubbles. We performed a choreographed dance for our guests to a popular Arkells song, “And Then Some,” made the lift, and got a standing ovation! Ryan works at the Scotiabank Arena, so we thought it would be fun and fitting to have a kiss cam to involve all our guests. Everyone danced and had a blast all night, and our wedding day could not have turned out more perfect for us!
