Kleinfeld Love Stories: Juliana and Nekko

Nekko and I got engaged on Thanksgiving Day of 2023. It was a bittersweet day since my parents were retiring and moving back to their home country of Colombia in January 2024. We have a big family, so we were all together celebrating the holiday at my aunt’s house.

Mid reunion, Nekko said he wanted to do a speech. I was in complete shock when he got down on one knee. It was such a sweet moment surrounded by family. We both knew that we wanted to enjoy being engaged for a year or two and plan the wedding slowly.

It was always my dream to go to Kleinfeld since my mom and I would watch TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress religiously each weekend when I was 12 years old up until the time I was 15. I would imagine myself in the store looking at all the gowns, planning my wedding, and choosing my dream dress. Since I was a little girl, I have always been drawn to the sparkle, design, and novelty of Pnina Tornai gowns. So when I got engaged, I knew I had to look for my dress at Kleinfeld!

I had never tried on a wedding dress prior to my appointment at Kleinfeld. I felt like there were so many different options that I knew I would at least get an idea of what dress I wanted, but I was not expecting to find my dress the very same day. My gown ended up being the very first dress I tried on! I just got this feeling and no other dress I tried on after compared. I also got to meet Pnina Tornai herself! Even though my mom was not able to be there, since she had already moved to Colombia, she was able to meet Pnina through FaceTime. It was so special! The entire experience was a dream and I wholeheartedly believe that I manifested it all at 13 years old.

My husband, Nekko, was the one to suggest having the wedding in Colombia! Although planning a destination wedding was not easy, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was so beautiful and full of love!
