Keegan & Katie - 11/16/19

About the Proposal

Engaged:

October 5, 2018

Keegan proposed on Friday, October 5th, 2018. We had been dating for over 5 years. And we live in apartment 5K. The number 5 has followed us all throughout our relationship – so he took care to ensure the streak continued! He tricked me into thinking we were going to dinner and a Broadway show – told me to meet him at a restaurant on Gramercy Park. When I arrived, he convinced me we had time before our reservation to go take a walk in the park. Having no idea Gramercy Park was a private park, we went for a stroll – and he dropped a knee! He had a photographer outside the gates of the park to capture every moment, a presidential suite at the Gramercy Park Hotel, a dinner reservation at Carbone and all of our best friends coming up to our suite for an engagement party later that night. It was the most magical day and I couldn’t have asked for a more incredible day.

About the Dress

Kleinfeld Consultant:

Morgan

I invited my two best friends, my mom and my mother-in-law to New York City for a girl’s weekend to go dress shopping over the long President’s Day weekend. I grew up watching Say Yes to the Dress with my mom so we knew that had to be the first stop of the weekend. I was having such a hard time really visualizing what I wanted to look like on my wedding day, thankfully I had an incredible consultant – who took care to put me in a few different shapes to really start narrowing in on my vision. The Condesa dress by Pronovias was the third dress I tried on – I immediately ugly cried on the platform in the showroom. I have never felt more beautiful in my life! It was sexy, edgy but classy and elegant – timeless yet modern. The long sleeves, open, unlined embroidery all along the arms and bodice of the dress were jaw dropping. It was a unanimous “this is THE dress” from everyone in my group, and other groups on the floor.  It was the perfect combination, and very much a representative of who I am as a person, in a single piece of clothing. Since Kleinfeld had only been the first stop, we went to two more very underwhelming appointments, and ran back to Kleinfeld right before closing to purchase my dress! I couldn’t have asked for a more seamless fitting process either – Josephine was incredible and I owe her everything! It fit like a glove.

About the Wedding

Married:

November 16, 2019  //

Location:

Athens, Georgia  //

Venue:

Cloverleaf Farm

Our wedding was in Athens, Georgia – home of the University of Georgia. Keegan and I met freshman year at UGA while on Spring Break and have spent every minute together since. We grew up together through our years in Athens. After graduation, we moved to New York City together, both anxious to pursue big careers in our respective industries – mine in fashion, his in commercial real estate. Although New York had been our home for four years, it just felt right to go back to where it all begin, our old college town, to tie the knot. We found the perfect venue, a beautiful old Southern farm house, with multiple ceremony location options and a big outdoor barn for our reception – Cloverleaf Farm. It was important to me to use warm fall colors and dried florals to be respective of the season. It was a challenge to find the perfect balance between black tie elegance, the traditional Southern vibe of the venue, and the boho, dried flowers approach I was looking for. Consistency was extremely important to me – I was sure to use the same fonts, materials and tone in every aspect of our wedding, while including modern lucite and timeless typography to elevate the event. I think this played a huge factor in everything coming together in the end. We wanted an elevated, elegant affair but FUN was our highest priority. Our 8-piece jam band stole the show, and no one left the dance floor the entire night. We had 175 people in attendance, which was intimate yet inclusive – and we were able to have all the most important people in our lives be a part of our big day. It was a beautiful day – and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
