Engaged:

Preston and I were together for almost 4 years before we got engaged.  We met on the first day of college at Oklahoma State University.  Preston is truly the sweetest man I’ve ever met! We got engaged in Oklahoma City on Lake Hefner near a beautiful lighthouse.  He had arranged for marquee letters that spelled out “Marry Me” with rose petals all around.  He bent down on one knee and told me he wanted to make me happy forever and that he will always love me.  The next weekend, we took our engagement pictures in Hawaii!

I bought my Allure Bridal dress from Kleinfeld!  It was such a surreal experience and I am so thankful that my family made all of my wedding dreams come true!  We flew with eight of my friends and family to NYC to find the perfect dress!  AB #9911 was the FIRST one I tried on and I knew it was the one!  The back of the dress is so timeless and elegant, and quite frankly was my favorite part of the dress!  Even though I went to other appointments and tried on other dresses, this style always reigned #1 to me. None of them compared to this dress. I purchased my earrings and necklace from Kleinfeld also!  The Kleinfeld assistants are the BEST!!

My wedding was an absolute DREAM!  My favorite details about my wedding were the flowers, the musicians, and the venue!  Our flowers were a mix of pastel and bright summer colors, and against the venue, which is a modern French inspired estate, it made everything pop!  My wedding planner, Kelsey B Dell at KBD Events, and I put so much work and thought into every little detail. From the customized cocktail napkins with a photo of our French bulldog, to creating personalized escort cards in the shape and color of our flowers, to making our wedding programs in the shape of fans because of my maiden name (Phan), everything was so well thought out and executed perfectly.  The saying on the program read “So long, Phan”!

We had a live string quartet play during our ceremony and cocktail hour, it was absolutely beautiful! I have always wanted to walk down the aisle to the classic Canon in D, and hearing it live was breathtaking! There was not a dry eye in sight. We hired Hannah Aaron, a live oil painter to attend the wedding and to paint a portrait of us with our families in front of the staircase of the venue’s entryway.  She included family members who have passed away in the painting and it was such a special moment for us that she was able to add them in.

During the reception, my husband and his groomsmen performed a surprise mashup dance! It was the best way to start out a great party and a memory we will never forget. Finally, for our grand exit, we were whisked away in a 1951 white Chevy Deluxe named “Dolly”! 🙂

It was truly the most perfect wedding day!
