About the Proposal

Engaged:

August 21, 2016

The long-awaited moment!

It was Traver’s weekend in Saratoga Springs – the biggest weekend of the year! Jenna and Ryan enjoyed their time at the races on Saturday with close friends Patrick Hart and The Nowak family. It was a day of great races and even better drinks!

Sunday rolled around and Jenna and Ryan decide to relax all day. It was a super rainy day. Ryan asked to go to Druther’s for some food which is nothing out of the ordinary for a Sunday late lunch. Jenna barely tossed her hair up, put on some LuLu gear, kept her glasses on, and didn’t put any makeup on whatsoever.

The couple enjoyed some amazing food and drinks. Ryan decided to drink a little more than normal but Jenna didn’t think anything of it.

They went home to walk their dog, Tito. It was still raining. Jenna put on one of Ryan’s oversized hoodies and some shorts. As Jenna was walking the dog, Ryan pulled up to them and asked her to hop into his Jeep. Confused, Jenna asked, “Why?” Ryan explained that they finally were able to get an appointment at a house that they were interested in purchasing.

Jenna jumped into the car with Ryan, wet from the rain and looking frazzled from not getting ready all day. Jenna explained that Tito still needed to go to the bathroom. Ryan suggested to take Tito to the Yaddo Gardens because it was on the way to the house.

Ryan, Jenna, and Tito all arrived at the Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga Springs – the most beautiful spot in town. They walked through all the flowers, fish ponds, walkways, and mazes as it was still raining!

At the top of the gardens near the beautiful steps, Jenna turned her back to look at some flowers and Ryan got down on one knee. Jenna turned around to make her way down the staircase, and to her surprise, she found Ryan at the bottom holding out the most gorgeous ring.

Ryan professed his love for Jenna and she said “yes!”

And in true Ryan and Jenna fashion, they made their way to the closest bar to have celebratory drinks. The bar was called Kings Tavern and they didn’t allow pets. So, Ryan and Jenna stayed in the rain, took a shot, and had a drink together.

About the Dress

Designer:

Lazaro  //

Kleinfeld Consultant:

Diane and Lisa

I am a Lazaro bride! My dress was style 3715 and she was an absolute stunner! I did not want a regular cookie-cutter dress because that is far from who I am as a person. I wanted an absolute luxurious show stopper that people haven’t seen before. I knew from the start that I wanted a tight, form-fitting, sexy gown. I typically go for the sleek, sexy, looks in my everyday life and I didn’t want to deviate from that. I think Lazaro’s 3715 is the perfect balance of sexy and sophisticated. His attention to detail is out of this world! The amount of detail, embellishment, and thought that went into the production of this dress was unlike any other dress. The different types of layered fabric made the dress one of a kind. There was a glitter layer, then a Chantilly lace layer, and a beaded layer. The waist detail had blue crystals, within all the feathered and flowered beading, to act as my “something blue” – not something you see with every dress! There was a scalloped Chantilly lace detail on the sheer straps that cascaded down the back. I knew I wanted a low cut front and back and found that the Lazaro 3715 had the appropriate amount to satisfy my inner sexy and balance with our gorgeous, sophisticated wedding! The sparkle is insane! Thank you Lazaro!

About the Wedding

Married:

September 23, 2017  //

Location:

Saratoga Springs, New York  //

Venue:

Saratoga Polo Association

Our wedding was on September 23rd, 2017 at Saratoga Polo Association in Saratoga Springs, New York. Our theme was “all white” and I wanted our guests to feel like they had just entered into a white secret garden! The ceremony took place in the middle of the polo field under an all-white, lush, flower-filled arbor. The aisle was lined with a heavy amount of white petals and the beginning of the isle was framed with two full and bountiful baskets of a white assortment of flowers. The cocktail hour was located in the polo club house and the reception took place in an all-white, romantically-draped tent with a cobble stone floor. My decor consisted of a massive amount of different florals along with draping eucalyptus in every corner and chandelier. The escort cards themselves were bundles of white flowers in viles! I had white chairs for the ceremony, a white Rolls Royce, white floral-styled stationary and signage, white napkins with our custom crest printed on them, a white-draped entrance way to the polo field, sparkly white table cloths, and to top it off, a white-themed Snapchat filter. The main influence for our wedding concept and styling was the fact that I wanted to be different than every bride. I know that all white is not the norm but I thought it was so clean, crisp, and classic. My girls wore a simple white dress while I had sparkle, flare, beading, and crystals! It was never a worry in my mind whether or not I would be the “one to stand out.” It is all about how you exude your confidence and energy. It was the most perfect day! In addition to my all white secret garden theme; I wanted to keep the Saratoga traditions alive. We met and now live in Saratoga Springs; so we love the traditions and the culture of our city. Horse racing and polo matches are a couple of events that Saratoga Springs is known for within New York. So, we had polo players prancing around before the ceremony and during cocktail hour to take pictures with guests! We made sure to make many nods to Saratoga Springs within our decor and detail. To cap off our perfect day, we ended the night with a fireworks show! Below is a snap shot slide show of our big day done by our talented photographer, Janelle Rodriguez Photography.
