We ended our week long vacation in Puerto Rico by taking a boat ride on a friend’s boat to Palomino Island, a private island owned by the El Conquistador Resort. We spent the day with friends swimming and soaking in the sun on the gorgeous beach. Following a walk around the island, just the two of us, we returned to the boat to see a giant banner with our picture and a the words “Casey, will you marry me?” I was completely surprised, and Michael dropped to his knee right there and pulled out a gorgeous ring.

My dress was an ivory Mikado silk gown with illusion straps. It had gorgeous embroidered floral appliques on the bodice. My fabulous seamstress attached a beaded belt which had crystals and pearls onto the bodice. She was able to incorporate it seamlessly under some of the appliques. It was by far my absolute dream dress!

We had an intimate evening wedding with 65 loved ones. The ceremony took place under a beautiful gazebo draped with white fabric and coral and white hydrangeas and roses overlooking the ocean from above. The bridal party walked in to a piano version of Bruno Mars’ “Marry You.” The cocktail hour took place in an upstairs terrace with sweeping views of the ocean and resort. A traditional steel drum band played the sounds of the island while guests drank pina coladas. The reception was in an adjacent private terrace overlooking the ocean. There was an abundance of coral and white flowers and travel themed décor on each table. Guests enjoyed a four course plated dinner with fresh seafood, and danced the night away under the moon.
