5 Dresses Perfect for the Minimalist Bride

Calling all minimalists—it’s your time to shine! It’s no surprise that low-key looks were trending all of 2020, as brides chose a simpler look for their smaller, more intimate weddings. Thankfully, this trend is here to stay for 2021, says our Director of Merchandising, Dorothy. “In working with our brides, I’ve noticed that having smaller weddings is here to stay—often backyard bashes and romantic park nuptials. It’s clear that brides are looking for a more casual dress to wear that fits that type of occasion,” she says.

In celebration of the biggest wedding trend of the year, we recently worked with celebrity wedding photographer Jose Villa and celebrity event designer Joy Proctor, to photograph 5 stunning new wedding dresses perfect for the low-key, minimalist bride. Find out why our consultants are loving these looks for a simple & timeless wedding, below.

Nouvelle Amsale Style: Hope

Why we love it: “This particular Amsale dress is great for a bride who wants to stay minimalist, but with an ethereal & whimsical focus,” says consultant Kelsey. “The spaghetti straps are delicate, while the tulle skirt has awesome movement—perfect for the bride that wants to twirl on the dance floor,” she boasts. The gathers in the skirt add a vintage touch, and the silhouette makes a great canvas to accessorize.

Pronovias Style: Rian

Why we love it: Hello drama! This style will show off your figure in the perfect way, suggests consultant Mindy. “The crepe fabric effortlessly falls on the body allowing the bride to feel sexy and confident,” she says. “This dress is far from plain—it’s timeless and elegant with a modern twist,”

Reem Acra Style: Nolita

Why we love it: This gorgeous Reem Acra style is the perfect option for those looking for a feminine, romantic feel. “This is a perfect alternative to the clean lines of the more angular satin dresses out there,” says consultant Lisa. “While it’s simple, there’s beautiful attention to detail on the bodice cascading down through the waist, the neckline is soft and rounded, and the skirt has a light and airy flow,” she says. We agree with Lisa—this style is absolutely effortless.

Jane Hill Style: Airlie

Why we love it: Consultant Candace puts it perfectly—”There’s no need to try to be the center of attention when you’re already it,” she laughs. “This Jane Hill is the epitome of chic with its fully beaded silhouette, square neckline, low back, and sexy slit,”

Love by Pnina Tornai Style: 14861

Why we love it: Consultant Krissy explains that what makes a minimalist style so effortless is the fit—and this style takes the cake (pun intended). “Once I put a Pnina Tornai gown on a bride, they know the gown speaks for itself because of the fit, fit, fit,” she says, “This gown just exudes class with a minimalist approach; the lace is delicate, making the fit effortless. With a beautiful bateau neckline and low v back, its design is perfect from every angle,” she suggests.
