Founded in 1937 by Manny Bernstein, Paloma Blanca began as Blue Bird Dress in downtown Toronto on Spadina Avenue, where the company first introduced bridal gowns and evening wear. Built on a family tradition of exceptional craftsmanship, Manny’s brother Harry Bernstein carried the business forward, helping establish Blue Bird Dress as a leading Toronto design house known across Canada for unique bridal and evening wear and high-quality manufacturing.

In the late 1970s, Harry’s sons Marty and Shimmy Bernstein joined the family business and helped guide its growth across the United States, expanding distribution to hundreds of stores. As the brand evolved into Paloma Blanca, its focus became exclusively bridal gowns and accessories, reflecting a refined, elegant aesthetic rooted in flattering design, impeccable fit, and thoughtful detail. Today, Paloma Blanca remains family owned and operated, is 100% Canadian-made, and is celebrated worldwide for award-winning wedding dresses, trusted service, and enduring bridal excellence.
