For more than 70 years, thousands of brides have traveled to Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City to find their wedding day looks. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’ll feel the magic of Kleinfeld. Not only does Kleinfeld have 30,000 square feet filled with the largest selection of wedding dresses in the world, it also has the greatest professional staff of over 200 employees who are dedicated to finding and perfecting your bridal look.
One of the many effects the coronavirus pandemic is having on the world is the postponement of social gatherings of more than 50 people, and in some states, complete shut down of all events until further notice. And as a bride-to-be, you are probably in the midst of deciding whether or not to postpone your wedding (or perhaps you already have), or wondering how the pandemic will affect yours. With that, you’re probably looming with questions—but don’t stress, we’ve got answers! Take a look at some of our most frequently asked questions from our brides, below.
If my wedding is postponed, how does this affect alterations?
First and foremost, should you choose to postpone your wedding, please call us at 646.633.4300 or email us at email@example.com and let us know as soon as possible. By informing us immediately, our team can work to accommodate your new wedding date so that you can breathe easy.
From there, our client services team can notate your new wedding date and discuss shipping, storing and preservation options with you. Should you choose to move forward with altering your dress at Kleinfeld, our alterations department will be more than happy to accommodate you and your new wedding date. They will be in contact with you directly to schedule your fittings according to your new timeline so everything runs smoothly. And don’t worry about any additional costs—we will not charge you an alterations rush fee if your wedding date is compromised and requires rush alterations due to the effects of COVID-19.
Depending on your new wedding date in comparison to your original date, we can offer to store your wedding dress at Kleinfeld for a limited time at no cost. Your Client Services representative will review this with you. We also recommend working with our gown preservation specialist if your wedding will be postponed longer than 6 months past your original wedding date. For more information on Kleinfeld Gown Preservation, please call 212.570.0433 or email GownPreservation@KleinfeldBridal.com.
Will there be a cancellation fee for an appointment that was cancelled due to COVID-19?
You might have been disappointed to hear that your appointment needed to be cancelled due to our closing, or perhaps you cancelled it to practice social distancing before we closed. Because Kleinfeld has been instructed to close by the governor of New York, we will not be charging a cancellation fee at this time.
Should I be worried about my dress arriving on time?
No! At this time, we are not experiencing any delays in dresses arriving on time for upcoming weddings. However, please be assured in the event there is a delay, our customer service team will contact you immediately to assess next steps.
When can I expect to make another appointment?
While we are still waiting for further instructions from our government regarding an opening date, we suggest that you still go ahead and book a new appointment in the meantime! For up to date information regarding reopening, check the front page of our website and Instagram for the latest news.
My wedding is scheduled for later this year. Should I be concerned?
If your wedding is planned for June or later, you do not need to call us at this time. Don’t fret! We will contact you with any updates if need be.
Should you have any further questions, feel free to call us at 646.633.4300 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and someone from our team would be happy to assist you.
