DENNIS BASSO
“Dennis Basso is one of the world’s leading fur and ready-to-wear designers. He founded his company in 1983 and his designs have been worn by some of the world’s most influential women, including Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kim Cattrell, Rene Zellweger, Meryl Streep and Catherine Zeta-Jones, to name a few. His designs have been featured numerous times on the cover of WWD and on the pages of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Town & Country and all the international press.
In 2003, he opened his flagship store on Madison Avenue. He also has boutiques at the Little Nell Resort in Aspen and The Four Season Hotel in Vail, CO, Harrods in London, TSUM Department Store in Moscow, and in Harbinger, China. Twenty years ago, he created an exclusive line, Dennis by Dennis Basso, for QVC, the television shopping channel. QVC ranks him as one of their foremost designers. In 2011, he launched his exclusive collection of bridal designs for Kleinfeld in New York City.
He sits on the Board of the Children’s Hearing Institute, which honored him 1999. He is a major supporter of Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT, the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association, which gave him their Humanitarian Man of the Year Award in 2005. Over a decade ago he was inducted into the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).”
