Hello Everyone and Greeting from Turkey! Dorothy and I left our amazing hotel (and view) in Izmir last week to come to Istanbul, Turkey. The Izmir Bridal Fair was amazing this year, Dorothy and I were the only US buyers which of course means that Kleinfeld will carry exclusive dresses from Turkish designers like Songul Serpbas and Buket designed by Bernard who's become a familiar face at the Izmir bridal market.

Our view of the Aegean Sea from our hotel room.

Here's Dorothy about to enter the Izmir Bridal Fair! We're ready!

Here I am with my map ready to see all the different vendors

Below is a beautiful design from Buket

A beautiful new style from Songul Sarpbas ...

Now we come to the most over the top section of our trip! Dorothy and I were at the fair to witness a bridal gowns competition with the winner  being entered into the Guiness Book of World Records. The competition was based on the a gown having the most stones!

The dress below, on the left won the finale with the most stones it was recorded as having 45,000! The girls are being interviewed here for a TV broadcast of the competition.  Dorothy and I think her headpiece is modeled after the Brooklyn Bridge, it made us miss NYC. But the whole show was just amazing. The others are all runner ups...

This model couldn't walk on her own because the dress was so heavy! Can you imagine wearing something so heavy?

Runner Up

The dresses were so dazzling and bright we thought about wearing our sunglasses to look directly at them.

Hope you enjoyed! We are having a blast but can't wait to be back at Kleinfeld, but first things first ... The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
