Adding Color to Your Wedding Attire

A recent trend in bridal is colored accessories, the most popular being shoes.

I've seen brides with shoes in almost every color you can imagine, from bright blue (such as the Martinez Valero shoes pictured) to yellow and red, and so on. We even incorporated this trend in our new window display, featuring fuchsia Martinez Valero shoes. See how well they pick up the pink petticoat and ribbon around her waist.

If shoes aren't the way you'd like add color to your look, another option is a colored headpiece. There are so many options for colors in headpieces, here are just a few:

Above is a Thomas Knoell Hair Pick with a mixture of blue and green stones.Thomas can add almost any color to his pieces, allowing you to customize the stones to fit your wedding color scheme. This is a small accessory that can be worn alone or with matching earrings and a bracelet.

For a bolder look, you can choose a large multi colored headband such as this Erin Cole design. This piece is made up of a unique mixture of chunky stones and has a perfect balance of color and sparkle. This is a statement piece! I would wear this headband with a simple dress and simple jewelry.

Of course, the something blue. This Pnina Tornai headband is made up of a beautiful dark blue stone and has a vintage feel. It is elegant enough for your wedding but can be worn again for a special event.

Colored feathers: Feathers have been a trend in bridal for a while, recall Sex and the City Carrie & Big’s wedding take 1? This funky and edgy Castle Bride Couture feather is a personality piece. Like the Erin Cole headband, this piece should be worn with a simpler dress to ensure your guests are still looking at YOU. It can also be made in various colors.

If colored shoes or colored headpieces are too much for you, the simplest way to add color is through jewelry. You should wear a color that is part of your wedding theme or that flows with your wedding colors. Always keep in mind what suits your personality, yet won't distract from your overall look.
