Behind the Scenes: Finding Sarah's Dress!

Fun Fact about Finding My Dress
What were shown on the show were only three dresses, when in actuality I tried on a total of five. The last dress I tried on that is "the one" was a new dress that I judged on the hanger and didn't like...it took trusting and listening to my consultant "Audrey" to get me to try it on. Once I tried it on, I realized it was the one...although I came in ready to purchase a completely different dress with my mind already made up!


Being the Bride NOT the Consultant
It was a very interesting and surreal moment for me as the "bride". I'm so used to being a consultant and dressing other brides for their big day, that the appointment almost didn't feel real to me! I walked into the appointment feeling totally cool, calm, and collected, until i went in to do a pre-interview. When I went in, naturally I went to sit where I normally sit on the "consultant" side and the camera guy had to correct me and send me to the "bride" side, and that's where I lost my "coolness" and become a nervous wreck. (I tried very hard to pull myself together and not fall apart.)


What You Didn't See
An interesting moment that occurred during the filming that wasn't really shown on the show, was towards the end of the appointment when I'm in "the one", I felt the store all of a sudden go silent. It was as if everyone in the store (my co-workers, and family) all knew it was my dress; and when I looked up from what I was focusing on I saw what seemed like the entire store all standing together in a small crowd just staring at me and my family in support of my appointment. It was a very touching moment for me, because not only do I get to share this exciting time with my family, but also with my "work family".
