The Knot National Summer 2010 Cover

Back in February, when the Knot approached us to put a groom on the cover of their National Summer 2010 issue, we were not only excited to give readers a sample of our men's department, but thrilled that The Knot, like us, was recognizing the importance of the groom at the wedding! So, I took on the role of stylist and began organizing potential looks by color stories. In the end, Knot Fashion Editor, Heather Levine, favored a classic and chic combination of black, white, and shades of silver.

I chose a look and we started shooting - strange to be dressing the groom and not the bride for once! Of course, there is never just one look and every few frames the whole team stops to analyze the shot and make some changes. Because as anyone who's ever been on a photo shoot can tell you, there is a lot of trial and error - keep his look, change her dress, switch his tie, and "hey, does anyone have a dog we could use?"

In the end, the cover is one great photo showing the emotion and excitement of a couple on their wedding day. But do not be deceived, it takes a lot of work to get there! So, from my experience, I've come to the conclusion that the formula must be this...12 hours + 11 pocket squares + 4 dress changes + 3 lattes + one Boston terrier = 1 Great National Cover for The Knot Summer 2010 issue.

Hello, WOW you guys are on the ball, and talk about mind readers!! My fiance and I were talking last Friday night, while watching "Say Yes to the Dress", yes he watches it with me!! ;) And he asked me just that.. what about the groom!! He asked me if you guys ever did a Grooms show, or if there was ever a chance that when the big sample dress sales & blow out sales take place if there was ever anything for the Grooms to save a dollar with?!? Can you please let me know so I can pass it along, he's very much involved in the whole planning of our wedding, and def. loves to look good as we all do! :) Cheers! p.s. I love Randy & Keisha!!! I want to come to the next big blow out sale, perhaps he can come with me too, and score on a deal!
