Kleinfeld, what an amazing environment: I must say if anyone had told me, after so many years in the menswear business, that I would be spending time in a bridal establishment, I would have said they were losing it...their minds... they were crazy, etc. Now here I am in the world's finest and most ultimate of 'bridal establishments', and you know after 30 years in menswear, I never thought about it, but actually this is the perfect environment for menswear: it is a ready men's client-base by virtue of the brides. The groom, father-of-the-bride, father-of-the-groom, and groomsmen now have a place to furnish all their needs, and you know I am totally surprised that NO ONE thought of this before. What a stroke of genius...KLEINFELD MEN...

So here I am and loving it...and thrilled to be able to offer my services, advice, knowledge, and whatever else may pop up..blah, blah ,blah. So feel free to ask away:

Someone asked me the other day something that I had never been asked before in all my years in the men's business. "Where did the name TUXEDO come from: Was it named after a Lord or someone"? (ie. our favorite food the sandwich – Lord Sandwich). So I put on my thinking cap and decided this would be a good platform to give out the knowledge that I have acquired in the 30 years I have spent in menswear: So since I have now joined Kleinfeld Men, why not start with the question I was asked.

The Tuxedo:

TUXEDO
In 1866 The Prince of Wales invited James Potter, a rich New Yorker and his wife to his hunting estate. When Potter asked the Prince for recommendations for dinner dress he sent him to his tailor Henry Poole & Co.. On returning to New York, his dinner suit proved to be very popular with the members of his club, and they soon made it their informal dining uniform. The Club "Tuxedo Park Club". The evening dress for men now popularly known as a tuxedo takes its name from Tuxedo Park, and thereafter became popular for formal dress in America.

Now that it is official, my BLOG that is...start looking for my alias...Professor Blogman: believe me I will tell it all, even the things I shouldn’t! See you soon...Frank, aka Professor Blogman.
