Just in @ Kleinfeld

Just received this beautiful gown in by Ulla Maija:

The best way for me to describe this gown is a "quiet elegance."

This sweetheart strapless gown is made up of a combination of two luxurious fabrics. The main body of the gown and the voluminous side drape are both made in a rich silk duchess satin, and both are cut on the bias. Underneath the drape is a very full gathered silk taffeta skirt that adds fullness and volume, but is much lighter than satin, so it’s not as heavy as you may think. The subtle play of the two fabrics is very understated and very sophisticated.

The most stunning feature of the gown is the three dimensional flowers placed asymmetrically down the bodice and side front. The flowers are hand cut and hand stitched giving it those couture details that make it truly special.

The flowers are actually made up of three layers of fabric. The top layer is silk taffeta, the second layer is duchess satin, and the third layer is tulle. This gives the flowers some dimension which is a really hot trend in bridal fashion right now, but this gown does it with quiet elegance.

What do you ladies think of this dress?

Would you wear it on your important day?

I would absolutely wear this dress. I love the crumpled effect on the bottom and the elegance on top.

I think is Amazing, with a capital A. i really do. The flowers are beautiful. I love them, and think they are the best part of the dress. Yet, I'm not a fan of that silhouette. I just can't see myself wearing that dress on my wedding dress.
