Just in @ Kleinfeld

Just got this stunning new gown in by Pnina Tornai!

Luxurious silk satin ruched around the body with a side front beaded lace godet adorned with cascading silk roses.

Definitely a gown made for a dramatic entrance!

You may think I would only choose this gown for a taller bride with a perfect body. However, because Pnina can take special measurements, this gown can be made with the perfect proportions that will flatter a petite figure as well. Also the ruching can be very forgiving, and the built-in corset will cinch in your waist like Scarlet O'Hara!

Wow! What a beautiful gown! Randy--when you say the dress can be made to flatter a more petite bride, do you mean that the length of the bodice can be shortened and the skirt will be begin higher up towards the waist? I love this style of gown but have found that on my 5'4" very hourglass-y figure that this style make me look very short and stumpy. I tend to look best in a low-waisted gown where the skirt begins slightly below the hip bones. Can you offer any advice as to this dress? Thank you!

Dear SL: If a petite bride would want to wear a gown like this, Pnina can take special measurements to make it in the correct proportion for your body. Most gowns come in one length and then have to be hemmed. If you are very petite, you would lose most of the lace on this dress and it would flare out below your knee instead of above the knee. She would shorten the torso, and shorten the lace godet. She may even reduce the amount of silk flowers or reduce the size of them so they wouldn't overpower you. Remember, YOU want to wear the gown not the gown to wear you! And remember, when choosing any wedding gown, it's all about the right proportion! I hope this helps! Kindest regards, Randy

My experience at Kleinfeld was above my expectations, and having bought this dress, its just so true what Randy says. I am on the not so skinny side, and when i put on this gown, it made me look like a size 0. Pnina was in the store that day, I had a chance to meet her, and it was like everything was meant to be! This gown is worth every pennie!!!

Randy, you said this dress can be tailored to a petite frame...say 4'11" petite frame. With all the alterations, what is your personal opinion on the look of this dress for a 4'11" hourglass figure? Will all the alterations take away from the beauty and stunning effect of this dress? I really love the mermaid style but in being so petite, I find myself trying to settle for gowns that fit my body rather than make me feel it's perfect...What would you advise me?

Randy - What is your opinion on the overall look and feel of this dress tailored for a 4'11" hour glass body frame (w/ heels - 5'2)? Do you think all the alterations will take away from the stunning effect of this dress? Is it correct to assume that all alterations will increase the price of the dress dramatically? I am a big fan of mermaid dresses but am a bit discouraged because I'm only 4'11". Please advise.

Gorgeous. Ashamed I already brought a dress. It was from Amsale and her Christos collection, but if I hadn't found my dress, I would have definitely come in and tried on some of the Pnina dresses.

I have been eyeing this dress for months! Randy, what do you reccommend for clients who are coming from Canada to buy? Do they make one appointment to try on and purchase, and then do they have to make another appointment later to come back when it comes in to fit? And then does it get shipped to them? It just sounds like alot of trips to make. If anyone here has had any experience with a similar situation I am all ears! Thanks, - Leanne

I agree-it's amazing. And, I know from experiance that if you like this, Pnina Tornai has many more that are just as fantastic! BTW, jeweltutu there are other Pninas that have some of the same features. Check out her Style No. 31909419, this one adds some more drama if thats what you like. Also, her Style No: 31574544 is like the original dress times 5!

jeweltutu There was a typo in my last post, I meant to say your real question. Anyway, I've actually been thinking about your question, and I do have someting to say-it is a lot of trips, but it's absolutly worth it. Pnina Tornai is only sold in two places; Kleinfled and Israel so if you really love this dress, there is no compromise.
